Bread and blooms: The wonders of an Ultimo TAFE wander

By Maggie Videan and Brigit B

The Ultimo TAFE campus is a very interesting, and extensive place to check out. We started our excursion to sample some goodies from the bakery. If the queue out the front is any indication, it is a very popular destination for yummy treats, delicious and cheap!

Just next door are two florist workshops. We were impressed with how focused the students were, how organised the bench top workstations were and amazed at the abundance of flowers, foliage and the waft of beautiful aromas.

Continuing our walk around, we found that there was an Animal First Aid course being run on the sixth floor of Building D and it was full of students. Dog grooming was located the next level up, though there was no class on at that time and not a dog to be seen. As are we both dog lovers, we are definitely going to make sure we come back when class is in session.

TAFE paves the way for all sorts of new journeys and adventures, so check out the TAFE NSW website. Or just take a wander around and have a look for yourself.
